What is the prompt asking?
First you need to read the prompt and consider what it is asking. For this essay, you need to do much more than describe the point of view: you need to explain how the point of view contributes to the meaning of the work as a whole. You must address the text's meaning. Consider universal themes and what the reader learns from the text.
We listened to Kara and Moises share their essay introductions and discussed the relationship between point of view and meaning.
Due Friday 9/12: Essay 2nd draft
Bring both 1st draft and 2nd draft with you to class. The 2nd draft needs to show evidence of thoughtful revisions, having incorporated peers' feedback. You will submit both drafts to me. This second draft is not the absolute final draft. I will read it, and we will have writer's conferences before the final draft is due.
Due Friday 9/12 and complete 1 every week: SPOTTTS analysis of the poem of your choice
You will be expected to complete a SPOTTTS analysis every week on the poem of your choice. You choose the poem. Be mindful and make sure that your SPOTTTS analyses represent a wide range of poetry.
